YAM LARANAS
Director Cinematographer /Photographer
YAM is that rare breed of successful director/cinematographer. His career has spanned several memorable TV commercials for such diverse clients as Procter & Gamble, McDonald’s, Caltex, Nestle Ice Cream, Nescafe, Nido Milk, Jollibee, Unilab, SMART-PLDT, and the Department of Tourism.
In 2008, Yam completed post production on The Echo, the first mainstream Hollywood film to have a director from the Philippines. It's based on his earlier film “Sigaw” which was picked up by Roy Lee the same producer of The Grudge, Ring, and The Departed.
Also in 2008, Yam wrapped up work on his TV documentary for National Geographic. Again, it is the first time for a Filipino to be working for the prestigious channel.
Yam is represented by Andrew Roque in Manila and in the United States by Chris Ridenhour of Evolution Management and Robert Lazar and Nathan Ross of International Creative Management (ICM).
